Open the eyes of my heart, Lord … I want to see You …
Eye exams. While typing this, it occurred to me how much we need to have our physical eyes checked. It’s been a few minutes since I have done that, and as time progresses, it seems I need to do it more often.
Proper care of your eyes can help keep your vision at (or as close as possible to) 20/20 - but, even with perfect 20/20 vision, we can’t see Jesus with our physical eyes. We need to see Jesus through the eyes of our hearts.
Sometimes believers can become spiritually visually impaired, or may even take God’s grace, love, power and mercy for granted. Through prayer, worship, faith, and the study of God’s Word, we can examine the eyes of our hearts, and have them enlightened, or opened, to see Jesus and rejoice in His truths. We need to walk by faith, and not by sight and not rely on what our 20/20 physical eyes can see.
“I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in His holy people, and His incomparably great power for us who believe … ” Ephesians 1:18-19 (ESV)
Let’s encourage each other to constantly focus the eyes of our hearts on the Author and Perfector of our Faith, and our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
✌🏼❤️ - peace and love … Billy
NOTE: Don’t forget to pick up one of the event cards in the foyer. It has a listing of some of the events we have coming up for Havasu Christian Church – one of which is the Fifth Sunday Fellowship / Singspiration and smoked meat meal on 06.29.2025 at Kingman Christian Church. It’s a great time of encouragement and worship:
